How to Choose a Wedding Photographer
Choosing a Wedding Photographer in 3 Easy Steps:
1. Find wedding photographers. Ask friends for wedding photographer referrals and scour the internet for wedding photographers with style that you like. Do you like the posed formal style or creative with strange angles or do you like photographers who get amazing portraits and real emotion? Choose 3 photographers that whose work you love and schedule an appointment or phone consultation with each.
2. Meet with photographers. Avoid high pressure sales tactics and meet with all photographers. Ask them important questions like: Do you have my date open? Will you be my photographer in the wedding day? Do I get to keep the negatives? Can I take formal photos before my wedding? How many photos will I get? Do you carry backup equipment? Do you have a backup person in case you become ill? What kinds of products and albums do you offer? Can you put my photos online for guests to purchase?
3. Decide: If you like the photographer's work then your most important question is: Is there chemistry between us and the photographer? Do I like their personality? It doesn't matter if the photographer is the best photographer in the world...if you have no chemistry, don't hire them. Remember your wedding photographer will be following you around for most of the day, the last thing you want is your day to be ruined by a wedding photographer who you don't get along with.
When it comes to wedding photographers meet with them based on skill and photos but choose your wedding photographer based on personality!
